Eleanor Beevor

Projects Director, Africa

Prior to joining Inter Mediate, Eleanor was a researcher and practitioner specialising in non-state armed groups in Africa. She has worked in eastern, western and central Africa, particularly on the subjects of armed group participation in illicit economic activity, organised crime in conflict, climate security, and environmental interventions in conflict affected areas.

She has worked in humanitarian security, and as a consultant for the United Nations, as well as in the think-tank sector. Her doctoral studies focused on the religious and historical factors mobilising armed activity in the Uganda-Democratic Republic of the Congo border region.
