Ameya Kilara is a lawyer with extensive peacebuilding experience: from leading a youth peace
movement in India to dialogue initiatives at the community and senior policy levels. She heads the South Asian
Leadership Initiative at Inter Mediate, a programme focused on the role of leadership in conflict resolution in South
Asia, working in partnership with leadership experts at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Previously, at Conciliation Resources Ameya facilitated various dialogue initiatives across the Line of Control in Kashmir and an India-Pakistan track two process with former military and intelligence chiefs.
She has provided technical support to the UN’s Office of the Special Envoy for Syria. As a solicitor at Linklaters, a leading international law firm, she helped to promote the mediation of commercial disputes.
Ameya holds a Master in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She has received multiple awards for her work including Temasek Foundation-NUS Leadership Enrichment and Regional Networking Award 2008 and the Gleitsman Leadership Fellowship at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership.
